Spacious and stylish room with small balcony. Stylish shower. Interesting old house but sadly no information about it.
Meagre breakfast and appalling coffee let Casa da Avó down badly. We could have had a better breakfast but at extra cost. No secure parking. Really bad drain smell appeared after we had showered in the evening and lasted until we checked out. To be fair to the hotel we didn't mention it until we left and they said it had not been a problem before.

casa da avo - turismo de habitacao in torre de moncorvo exceeded my expectations. the personal service was impressive, helping us pre-book taxis and a tour guide for our visit to the paleolithic coa valley rock engravings. the breakfast was excellent with homemade and local produce.
Parking was not straightforward.

I absolutely adored the antique charm of Casa da Avo. The decor was filled with beautiful, centuries-old furniture and artwork that made me feel like I was stepping back in time. The common areas were spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable space for relaxation. As a senior woman, I appreciated the accessibility of the hotel. The staff was always ready to assist me whenever I needed help navigating the stairs or finding my way around the hotel. It made me feel cared for and valued as a guest.
Perhaps the only thing I would ask for to make the vacation even better for senior people is a bit more assistance from the children working there. While they were friendly and polite, it would have been helpful if they offered more guidance or suggestions for activities and attractions that would be suitable for seniors.
